Fishy Fun

This past weekend we went to the Seattle Aquarium with some buy one get one free admission coupons (gotta love those). It was so good to get out on the weekend since Jake has been working a lot of them!
These are out friends we went with. We are standing in front of a big aquarium but you can't really tell in this picture. There were even scuba divers in it feeding the fish and cleaning.
We always have to get pictures in the cut outs. Doesn't Jake make such a cute jelly fish?
Kaylee and Ben in front of another fish tank. They loved looking at all the fish. Ben especially liked it and was so excited the whole time. They had these cool touch pools with starfish, crabs, sea cucumbers and other sea creatures. Jake is petting the sea cucumber here. They feel like a marshmello- all squishy and the starfish were surprisingly hard. Even though it was a bit cold at the aquarium we had a good time.

Winter in Washington

We were so excited to get snow on Saturday!! Everything just looks so pretty with snow. We took Kaylee out so see it, she wasn't too impressed- too cold for her. We soon learned that people up here are ridiculous when it comes to snow. As you can see from the picture there is just enough snow to cover the grass-about an inch. Well, we saw snow-plows out (even though there wasn't enough snow on the roads to scrape, they did salt them though), there were a few cars with chains on their tires, and Sunday at church half the ward wasn't there! In sacrament meeting they thanked us for "braving the elements" to come to church. We just had to laugh, this is nothing compared to Rexburg! By the end of church the snow was quickly turning to slush due to the rain and by 6:00, it was gone. I guess this is winter in Washington.

Our Apartment

There have been several requests for pictures of our apartment. Here is a short little video of the living/dinning room and kitchen. Don't you love our pink countertops? (Kate I haven't forgot that I've been tagged-I'm just thinking. I'll post it soon)

Check out these skills!

So my baby can walk! She has never attempted it before yesterday and then she just took off! I think she was waiting for the most dramatic moment for everyone to watch. How fun is it to take your first steps for just mom? I think she wanted all the neighbors to see! This means I'm really going to have to watch her now or she'll be into everything!

Happy Thanksgiving

This year we had our first Thanksgiving away from family. We got together with our friends from the ward and all the food turned out so good! We had a good time. After we ate we all wrote down 5 things we were thankful for and then tried to guess who wrote what. We also played the drawing game. Since the babies were in need of a nap (as well as the rest of us) we took a little break and then started all over again a little later for more food and pie. It was a really good day. I'll save the most exciting event of the day for the next post!
Since Kaylee wasn't in the first picture we had to do an individual of her. I can't post without a picture of Kaylee after all.

Fun times

Kaylee loves to gather up all the stuffed animals she can and carry them around. She never leaves her crib without bringing a friend along. Her favorite thing to say right now is "eye" and everything- from screws, to stars, to freckles - is an eye. I've been trying to expand her vocabulary to nose, ears, etc. but she can't seem to get past eye.

A few more Halloween pictures

Here is Kaylee's stash of candy. She thinks the wrapped candy is fun, if she only knew what she was missing out on....
The cutest pumpkin in the patch!

Trunk or Treat!

Saturday our ward had a Halloween carnival and trunk or treat! (The kids go trick or treating to all the cars in the church parking lot- for those of you who don't know what trunk or treat is). We found out that we were pretty lame because we didn't decorate our trunk. Opps, maybe next year. The weather turned out so nice. I guess it has rained for the past 5 or so years but it was great this year! We had fun dressing Kaylee up but by the end she just really wanted to be in bed as you can tell in this picture.
Our nice family picture!
Kaylee our cute little pumpkin and her best friend Ben the dragon!

Update...

Well I thought I'd just give a little update. Kaylee had a Dr appointment today-her 1 yr checkup and we are proud to announce she is now over 15 lbs! She weights in now at 15lbs 5 oz. Maybe by 2 years old she can reach the 20 lb mark and be able to face forward in her car seat. She was taking a few steps by herself, but fell down a few times and now she is too scared to try it. I guess we'll have to keep working with her. She can point out her belly, toes, hair, nose, and is working on fingers. Her vocabulary consists of Hi, nana (banana), mom, dad, and yeah. She sure is cute- still no teeth. Jake is still working a lot of hours. Boeing is trying to get that new airplane the 787 out. He just yesterday got called to be first councilor in the Elders Quorum presidency, so on top of work he'll be really busy! I also got a calling yesterday -Visiting Teaching Coordinator. That should keep me pretty busy as well. There are a lot of apartments in our ward so it is pretty transient. I still go walking most mornings with the girls from the ward. We have a good time chatting. The weather is starting to turn bad though so outdoor walks might soon end! I don't look forward to winter here!

More Birthday Pictures

These are pictures from Kaylee's "pre-birthday party" in Utah. She got to enjoy 2 birthday cakes! She made a good mess. After a bath, Kaylee opened her presents. This is the doll she got. This doll has a binky and Kaylee was so excited about that. She kept putting the doll's binky in her own mouth. It was really cute.

While in Utah we had Kaylee's pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids. They managed to get some good picturts even though she was upset.

This is Kaylee's new push toy she got for her birthday!

Fun to be 1!

Yesterday was Kaylee's birthday! I can't believe she is already a year old! We didn't have much of a party since we had just got back from Utah the day before, but we did have a few friends over for cake and ice-cream. The missionaries even came over since they were at our neighbor's house for dinner. I was really glad they came because our camera wasn't working (surprise-it never works) so Elder Abbot let us use his! The cake isn't cute! It fell apart when I tried to get it out of the pan so the frosting is all that is holding it together. Good thing she's only 1 and doesn't care.
These are our friends Boyd, Kathryn and Ben -Ben is Kaylee's best friend. He got Kaylee some bath toys for her birthday.
Before ... After!
Kaylee loved the chocolate frosting. She stated digging in before she even blew out the candle!
She got a doll, teddy bear, stacking cups, and a push toy for her birthday. She is really cute with the push toy. I'll try and add a video later.

Vacation

Well we found out on Tuesday last week that Boeing wanted Jake to go to South Carolina for work- the next day! So we got very busy packing. I didn't want to be home alone for the week and a half he was gone so I 'm in Utah visiting family. It will be a good little vacation!

Labor Day

We went on a hike at Wallace falls with some friends on Labor day. It was a lot of fun! This is the middle falls. We didn't go to upper falls, it was a little too steep with a baby! Here are our new friends we went hiking with! The Harrises and Oldhams
It was a little rough carrying Kaylee uphill in the snuggly. I realized I wasn't as in shape as I would like to be. Jake carried her most of the way. What a good daddy!

Just some pictures

Kaylee 's guilty! She waited until I was not looking and pulled the lid off her puffs then dumped out half the container and started eating as fast as possible. The face says it all.
Kaylee and Jake enjoying some corn on the cob together. She loves chewing on the cobs after we are done eating.
Here is Kaylee and her new friend Ben in the bath tub. We were watching him while his parents went on a date.

2 years!

Last week was our 2 year anniversary! We celebrated by going on a Royal Argosy Dining cruise. It was a 3 hour cruise out of Seattle and they served lunch. It was a pretty view. The other picture is from a year ago whale watching for our 1 yr anniversary.

Friday, August 17, 2007

Here we are at the Beach in Mukilteo. It's not a very good picture but it's the only one we got before the batteries died. You can tell Kaylee loves the COLD water and the noise. We found our apartment and get to move in on Monday! It will be nice to get out of a hotel. It's a little small for Kaylee. We are living at the same complex we lived in last year so we already know some of the people in the ward. We had a Relief Society party last night and it was so fun! There are 2 other couples in the ward (and live at the same complex as us) that are also from BYU-I! What are the odds? Plus there are few friends from last year, so we are excited to be here.

Our "fun" trip to Washington

Monday was moving day and just our luck Kaylee threw up everything we fed her. All she wanted was to sleep in her bed but of course she couldn't since it was getting packed up. The movers were and hour late and then took 2 1/2 hours longer than we thought they would. Kaylee and I just were outside all day long since we had no where else to go! It was a long boring day. Once the movers were finally done we still had to pack up our cars, finish cleaning our apartment, and check out. We didn't end up leaving Rexburg until 8:30 at night with a 5 hour drive ahead of us. We finally reached Jake's sister's house near Boise at about 2:00 am. Tuesday we just had fun playing with the nieces and nephew relaxing. Kaylee was doing better although still couldn't keep her milk down. We didn't leave until about 6:00pm. About an hour and a half into our drive the real fun hit. Jake and I really weren't feeling well. We finally stopped at a gas station where Jake threw-up in the parking lot. I luckily made it to a toilet. The rest of the drive was that way. Pulling over to be sick. Let me tell you, throwing up when you are driving is no fun (luckily I was on an exit at the time). We were supposed to stay at a hotel in Yakima WA that night but we couldn't go on and ended up stopping 50 miles from Yakima. The next day we were pretty much better by the afternoon, and made it to Everett with no problems. We spent yesterday looking for apartments (no luck yet) and today is Jake's first day of work. Kaylee and I just get to hang out at the hotel.

We're Outta here!!

We just got a call from the moving company. They are coming Monday at 10:00 to pack everything and take it away! If we can survive the drive (Kaylee doesn't like to be in her car seat very long) we'll get to Everett and stay in Boeing Corporate Housing for 2 weeks until we find our own place!

Still waiting....

Well, we are still waiting to move. We haven't heard from the relocation specialist yet, so we have no where to go. We had a bit of a scare yesterday when the managers told us they had someone scheduled to move into our apartment Aug. 1! We were thinking we were going to be sleeping out in the parking lot, but then luckily the manager was able to fix things so we have until the 8th. Hopefully we hear from the moving company before then! We got the official offer today! (the one before was only an e-mail). We've been waiting for this for 3 months so I had to take a picture of Jake opening it!

We have a job!!

The job offer finally got here! Hurray! That means we can move up to Washington now! Boeing pays for a moving company to pack our stuff and move it for us, how great is that?! They also pay for a hotel for a few days so we can look for an apartment when we get there! We are going to try to move this week if the moving company can get us in. Everett,Washington will sure be different than Rexburg,Idaho but we are ready to move on with life and make the change!

Graduation!!

Jake graduated yesterday!!! We are excited to be done! We had both of our families come for the big event. It was fun to see everyone. We are ready to move on, if only the job offer would come....

Feeding Myself

Kaylee is an independant little girl and always wants to feed herself so I let her try it and she made a huge mess. She had a lot of fun and looked really cute doing it. I just put her in the bath after. Last week Kaylee weighed in at a whole 13lbs 4oz. She needs to go on a weight gain diet! She is 9 months old and still isn't crawling and I'd convinced it she never will. Now she just wants me to hold on to her hands and help her walk. That's all she wants to do these days! We are down to 2 weeks until graduation and still no job offer...

Quarter of a Century

We celebrated Jake's birthday this week! He is now 25! I made him Spumoni cake which his mom used to make when he was younger. It was quite the process but it turned out. We had some friends over for cake and ice-cream. We are down to 3 weeks until Jake graduates which is exciting but also scary! We still haven't received the job offer in the mail from Boeing! We hope it comes soon so we can decided when we are moving!

Shorter than I thought...

I was tired of the same hairdo all the time so today I was brave and had it chopped off! It turned out shorter than I thought it would be but I think I like it... I'll have to wait a few more days to be sure.

Fun at the Park

My family came up this last weekend and we had some fun at the park. We went on the Rexburg Carousel. Kaylee really liked it. We also played at the splash park but Kaylee wasn't so sure about that. My little sister liked it though!

Williamsburg, Virginia

This year the Williams' Family vacation was in Williamsburg, Virginia. We flew out on Saturday. Kaylee was actually pretty good on the flight.

-Sunday we went to church and then went to Yorktown to do some sightseeing. (Yorktown is where the last battle of the revolutionary war was fought.) The picture to the left is Kaylee playing in the clovers there.

-Monday we went to Jamestown (the first permanate English settlement in America). This is the remains of one of the original buildings from the 1600's. This other picture is a re-creation of the fist homes they built in Jamestown.

Here we are in front of the Jamestown memorial. This year is the 400th anniversary of Jamestown and America.

-Tuesday we went to Colonial Williamsburg. They had many of the original buildings from the colonial period. It was interesting to see, and amazing how well they've stood up after hundreds of years! -Wednesday we flew back home since Jake had to get back to school. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed being with the family. Virginia was so pretty with trees and just green everywhere. Utah and Idaho just can't compete.
