Your Opinion Please....

I decided the pillows I had on my couch were too dark. Instead of buying new ones, (they can be expensive) I decided to cover my old ones. I found a great tutorial I wanted to share here.  It was really easy.

Now I have to decided if I want to start another project. See that cabinet there? We have another one just like it holding our t.v. I don't really love them and have been thinking about painting them. Should I paint them? If I do what color?

8/30/10.....I have decided that since I live in Lubbock and the wind never stops blowing, and the only place I could paint is my porch, that painting right now would be a bad idea. There would be dirt/dust and leaves all over my wet paint. I'll just change the knobs and handles.

We're Back!

Well, we are back in Lubbock! It's nice to be back. The girls were really good on the drive back (even though they didn't really nap.)  Kaylee and Brooke were SO excited to be home. It was better than Christmas morning around here as they found their old toys. Kaylee was ecstatic that she had a dresser and a bed. I'm pretty ecstatic to have my bed back too! We are starting to get everything back in order and get back to our life after being gone for 3 months. Jake starts school this week and Kaylee will start in 3 weeks.

It feels good to be back in Lubbock. I never thought I'd say that. It really is in the middle of no where, and it is ugly isn't very pretty. I think we came here for a reason though. We felt like this was the place for us (at least for now) so we'll see where we go from here....

Potty Time

We have been working on potty training with Brooke this past week. I figured it was a good time to try since we are moving in 2 weeks so any damage done to the carpet will soon be cleaned anyway. We are just starting to get a little progress. She will sit on her potty as long as she gets to read "Cinderelly" which is her favorite book (I have to read it at least 3 times a day). We have been watching some great videos to get her motivated. This song has been stuck in my head for days...enjoy!

Rainbow Cupcakes

Today we decided to male Rainbow Cupcakes! They were supposed to look like this... http://www.spearmintbaby.com/2010/07/rainbow-cupcakes.html Ours were not quite as pretty but my two little helpers were very excited about the results.

And lots of fun eating....

Note to self: cupcake wrappers are not just for decoration. Cupcakes don't come out of the pan well without them.
