Trip to Utah

The kids had a few days off school so we headed to Utah for a visit.

I went to the temple with my parents. It was so nice to be there with them.

It was kind of rainy and cold but there were times we got to go to the park and play outside. We roasted marshmallows in the backyard one evening.

It was Kelli's birthday so we  got to celebrate.

The kids painted pumpkins with cousins.

It was also conference weekend so we spent most of the weekend listening to the words of the prophets. 2 hour church for the win!

I got Kelli a hoodie and I liked it so much I bought one too so we could be twins.

Family Pictures

My lovely sister in law took some family pictures for us. I really love how they turned out.

Kaylee is 12

I still can't believe Kaylee is 12! Where did the time go? Everyone was up early enough on her birthday for her to open presents before she left for school and Jake for work. She wanted much more grown up things this year- clothes, shoes and a new backpack.

Her friends rode the bus home with her and then we ate pizza and headed to Urban Air for her party.

She invited Sarah, and Lauren.

After playing a while we came back for cake and ice cream. She wanted lemon cake with chocolate frosting. I added a raspberry filling and they were pretty delicious.

Kaylee is a good worker, smart, and creative. I can't believe she's one of my Beehives in Young Women now!

Field Trips

Emma and I went on a field trip with Austin's class. We went to Meridian High to see the FFA agriculture fair.

We saw animals, and tractors, and learned about farming in Idaho.

We went on a family field trip up to Idaho City. It's an old mining town so we walked around the old buildings.

Of course no trip to Idaho City is complete without a stop a Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Shop.

Sunday September 30 was our primary program. This was the first and only time all 4 kids were in the program. Kaylee wasn't very excited to be in it but I sure liked it. She turned 12 two days later so she felt too old to be up there.

Brooke's 10!

We celebrated Brooke's birthday by taking a few friends to Urban Air.

Rachel, Brooke, and Brooklyn had a great time.

Birthday morning she was excited to wake up to balloons, waffles and presents.

She is into cats right now and really wanted some stuffed cats for her birthday.

Brooke had been collecting toilet paper rolls for months and drawing faces on them. She had about 50 of them but finally on her birthday she decided she was old enough to get rid of them and we put them in the recycle.

We had German pancakes for dinner per Brooke's request. She also wanted kitty cupcakes which we had at a birthday party and we had ice cream sundaes on her birthday.

Brooke is smart, silly, and a good sister. She still loves to be cuddly and is a good sister and friend.

Family Fun

The Call family invited us to go to Reptile adventures in Nampa with them. The kids loved it.

There was no fear from this girl with holding snakes.

I wasn't really into holding the snakes, but I didn't mind this cute tiny turtle.

We also went to a family fest in Meridian so Emma could see some princesses. We only found one but she was so happy.

On September 22 we ran the Fitone 5k. We ran with the Partridge family and split into different groups.

I ran with Brooke and Asha.

Sara, Ethan, and Kaylee ran together.

Kalon, Isaac, and Ethan ran together.

Jake ran with the little girls. I felt bad he got the hardest job. Emma was a little whiny and it was a long 3 mile walk.

It was a fun race for the rest of us. I had a good time running with these girls.

We went to a combined family birthday party at the Oto's. It was fun.
