Happy Valentine's Day

We didn't go out to eat for Valentine's day so I had fun decorating our dinning room for our "romantic candle light dinner." Kaylee and Brooke really loved the decorations. (I didn't have a good Valentine's table cloth, so that is Brooke's sheet.)

 We had heart shaped sandwiches for lunch...

And we dressed up for dinner (Kaylee and Brooke wear dresses everyday anyway. They just thought it was fun that I did too.) Jake put on a tie for the occasion. We had some music playing in the background and ate chicken, baked potatoes, steamed veggis and festive pink rolls (I dyed them pink).

After a FHE lesson on love and how we show our love (and after a bath) we had our FHE treat of delicious fondue. We loved dipping our strawberries and bananas in chocolate!

It was a good day to celebrate love! I sure love my wonderful husband and sweet girls!

Friday and Saturday were in the high 70's and this is what we woke to Tuesday morning!

It has been freezing here! I don't think we've made it over 20 degrees in 3 days. That isn't supposed to happen in Texas! It has been entertaining watching neighbors try to drive and just end up stuck in the same place.

Our windows are obviously high quality as there is a layer of ice inside.

The whole city has shutdown.... school has been canceled for 3 days now. Jake went to work Tuesday but nobody else was there.

It sure is a different world here when it comes to cold. In Utah this would be nothing...but they also have snowplows there. I must admit living in Texas has made me soft! I can't handle this cold weather. We haven't left the house since Sunday, mostly because I am terrified of the crazy Texas drivers.
