1 year stats

Austin had his 1 year check up last week. He is 18lbs 7oz- 8% and 30 inches -48%.
He is such a cute boy! He can say a few words- dada, mama, thank you, uh oh, and ball, but he prefers just to make noise to get what he wants "ah, ah, ah, ah."

Austin prefers to be on the go. He usually isn't content to just sit in the stroller. He wants to be out and playing. He sure can eat. We have a hard time keeping up with him. He can pack it in as fast as we can put the food on his plate.

Austin likes to dance. He was entertaining all the ladies in Relief Society on Sunday dancing and spinning in circles to the closing hynm. We sure do love this sweet boy!

Pump it up

The kids had 2 weeks off of school for Christmas break so we tried to do some fun things to keep them entertained and get out of the house. The girls always request to go to Pump It Up and luckily there was a deal online for it.
Austin wanted to play with this car the whole time. There were other kids in it until we were almost ready to leave (he was ready for a nap.)  He did get a few minutes to play in it but didn't fully appreciate it because he was so tired.

Pure joy on her face...

Children's Aquarium

On new years day we headed to Dallas to check out the Children's Aquarium. We thought it would be a good time to go since everyone else would still be asleep after staying up past midnight. (We didn't party this year- just went to bed.) We were right. There was only 2-3 other families at the aquarium. It was great to practically have the place to ourselves!
Brooke really likes turtles but I don't think she wanted this snapping turtle for a pet...

Since there was hardly anyone there we let Austin wonder around and he loved it.

We got to touch the sting rays. The girls were a little nervous to put their hands in there. The water was so warm, much warmer than it was outside. I kind of wanted to go swimming with the sting rays.
Kaylee and Brooke both got a fish to feed the string rays, but Kaylee decided she didn't want to and Brooke got scared when the the stingrays all started to swarm her and she just tossed the fish in. It was pretty funny.

The only place to eat lunch was outside and it was freezing!! (Well at least for Texas it was freezing-mid 40's but with humidity it feels colder.)  We didn't have our coats since we didn't expect to be outside very long.

We bundled them up and ate fast.

We planned on going to another museum after but since the parking lot was completely full we figured we'd try it another time.
