Our new place

This is our apartment for the summer. It kind of feels like we are camping right now.Living room....we are still looking for a couch. We have plenty of space if anyone would like to visit, just BYOB (bring your own bed) :)
Dining room- yes we eat at the little table every day.
Our room- sleeping on an air mattress
The girls room. It has been interesting getting them to share. Kaylee has moved Brooke's crib while she is sleeping and they both wake each other up by 6:30 every morning.
We went to the Fort Worth Science and history museum. (We have a membership to a museum in Lubbock and it works for the one here too!) They loved the grocery shopping area.
They could spend hours playing there and yet when I take them to the real grocery store it is all crying and trying climbing out of the cart, pulling everything off the shelf. It really stresses me out to go to the store lately. (Kaylee will sit in the cart. It is Brooke that is the problem. I think I need to get her a leash.)

Time to Go

We are moving to Fort Worth tomorrow! I can't believe it came so fast. I got most of our stuff packed up while Jake was in class all day (and all night too), and let me tell you it is not easy to pack 3 months worth of stuff with two little "helpers". We have an apartment in Fort Worth. We haven't seen it yet, but we hope for the best. It got good reviews on apartmentratings.com so we'll soon see if it lives up to it. I'm sure glad we are only making a 5 1/2 hour drive to Fort Worth instead of the 17 hours to Iowa. We have our cars all packed ready to go tomorrow morning. I'll post pictures of our luxurious accommodations when we get there.

Mother's Day

I love these girls!
Yesterday was a good day despite the fact that both my girls are sick. Jake spoke in church but I missed it since the girls were sick . He came home after sacrament meeting so I could go for Relief Society. Since it was mother's day all the women met together and we had food- little sandwiches, fruit, veggies, cookies, and other treats. It was a great little dinner especially since our church time is from 2:30-5:30.
For mother's day I got tickets to Wicked!!! I am so excited!! I've wanted to see it for years. It will be in Dallas this summer. We'll just have to find someone to watch our girls (Megan and Josh- what are you doing June 12? ;) )

Binky Fairy

The Binky Fairy (AKA Jake) decided it was time for Brooke to be done with her binky. She only had it at night and at nap time so I wasn't too concerned about it, but the Binky Fairy insisted. I told him we had to explain to Brooke what was happening. We just took Kaylee's binky and had a week of her crying herself to sleep. I hate that and wanted to avoid it with Brooke! Three days ago the Fairy took Brooke's binkys from her bed. I was dreading the crying but she only cried 10 min before she fell asleep. She woke up with a binky in her mouth; the fairy missed one. For the last 2 days the binky really has been gone and it hasn't been bad at all! I just remind her the binky fairy took her binky and she didn't even cry when I put her to bed without it. Kids understand more than we think. The Fairy didn't leave her a present though....I think I'll have to talk to him about that.

Gone with the Wind

Here is a little video of the girls that shows how windy it is here. It is windy almost every single day blowing 20-30 mph! I guess I shouldn't complain since it feels good on a hot day, but it can get really annoying, especially when my laundry starts blowing away!

This week is finals week for Jake, which means a lot of studying and then as soon as the test are done he has a week and a half of "extra classes" he has to take for the MBA program. The extra classes are everyday from 8:00am-9:30pm. If anyone wants to come visit May 12-21 while Jake is busy you are more than welcome!! Since Jake will be in class all day I'll have to do all the packing. I wish I could pack in advance but since we are only bringing the bare essentials we will be using everything we need up until the time we move. I can't believe we leave in 3 weeks!
