Not so bad!

So we got some letters from Texas Tech this last week and we found out Jake has to be there Aug. 13 for orientation, school doesn't start until the 27th though so I guess we'll have time to job search before school starts. We also found out he got a $1,000 scholarship each semester which also qualified him for in-state tuition!!! Now instead of paying $15,000 a year it is only $5,400 -not so bad- now we can get almost 3 years in for what it would have cost us for of one!

A little about Lubbock...

All by myself...

Brooke is starting to sit up by herself! She is still a little wobbly and has to have a toy in her hands to keep her balanced (otherwise she tries to eat her toes and falls over). I just realized earlier this week that Brooke has thrush and since I am breastfeeding her I also get to experience the joys of thrush... we are starting our medication today. Hopefully it clears up fast.

This is what happens when I am upstairs changing Brooke's diaper. Kaylee takes matters into her own hands to get herself some breakfast. We can't leave anything on the counter now because she moves her little chair over and can get it.

Cute sisters! Lately Brooke think Kaylee is hilarious. She is always laughing at something Kaylee is doing, even if it is as simple as throwing a ball in the air. It is fun to watch them interact.

We have been looking at housing in Lubbock and you can buy a house for so cheap, we will think about buying one since the mortgage would be cheaper than rent. The only problem is -would we be able to sell it in 3 years? We don't want to be stuck with a house.

Oh what do you do in the Winter time...

Unless of course it snows 5 inches like it did yesterday, then we play outside. I put Brooke down in the snow and she thought it was great! She kept smiling behind the binky. This snowsuit is way too big, but it did the job.

We are very happy to have Jake back! His month of crazy work hours is done so now he can come home and play.

Happy Snow day! I really was not excited at all when it started snowing, but we had fun. It just needs to melt now! Bring on spring!!!

He's in!

Jake has been accepted to Texas Tech which means we most likely will be moving to Lubbock, Texas in August. Jake will get his MBA and a masters in financial planning at the same time (which means I'll probably never see my husband.) I'm excited he got in, but not so excited about being poor college students again and moving almost 2,000 miles to the middle of nowhere. On the plus side everything will be cheaper in Texas than it is here!

I haven't posted for a while. There hasn't been too much going on here. A couple Sundays ago we had some friends over who used to be in our ward- the Crocketts and Jacobs. It was fun to talk to them again and the kids had a great time. The girls loved having their own table.

Brooke is 5 months old! I can't believe how fast she is growing. I think she already weighs more than Kaylee did at 9 months! She's a healthy little girl. She's been rolling over for a while now from back to stomach. She hasn't figured out stomach to back yet.

I'm excited for her blue eyes! I thought my brown ones would always be dominate but luckily the blue came through. I'm also excited that her hair is starting to grow in. She was getting quite bald for a while but it is finally deciding to come in.

We don't give Brooke rice cereal everyday yet, just every once in a while so it still is a surprise every time. I haven't decided if she likes it or not... I think I may start feeding it to her more often because she slept longer at night when she had cereal for dinner. Usually she is so tired by 7:00 she doesn't eat much. She is in bed by 7:30 must nights so when she sleeps 6-7 hours it's only like 3-4 hours for me. I guess I should get to bed earlier. It's just so nice to have time when the kids are in bed.

We are still waiting to hear back from Texas Tech. We think that is a good sign because we got a rejection from BYU about a month ago. Hopefully we will hear something official next week but things are looking good. Texas seems like a great change in weather right about now. I don't know about the summer though...

Wicked is showing right now in Portland and no I am not going... we never figured out what to do with our girls. Maybe in another few years it will be somewhere close again.
