Bishop

Jake's parents came to town last weekend so we got together for dinner and games and had cake for Papa's birthday.

Kaylee made Spamoni cake- a Williams Family favorite. It was delicious!

We played a few games- one of which was the saran wrap game. Austin got a swim cap as a prize.

The next day was Sunday and the reason for family in town was that Jake was called, ordained and set apart as Bishop of our ward. Jake and I knew about this calling for about a month before it actually happened. It's going to be quite the change but we both felt it was right - even thought the timing seems horrible- during a pandemic, with a new baby coming in a couple months.

It was nice to have family there and my family all joined our meeting via zoom (my mom had her hip replaced 2 weeks ago and could not sit in a car long.)

I'm grateful for good family, the gospel of Jesus Christ and the comfort of the Holy Ghost.

New Years

New Year's Eve I thought it would be fun to do our paint night project we never got to before Christmas. Turns out it was not so fun with kids complaining they couldn't do it and it's too hard and doesn't look right. Oh well, I tried and Kaylee and I enjoyed it.

Later that evening we went over to the Partridge's and played games, and had good food. Kaylee went to a friend's house for a different party. We all made it until Midnight even thought Brooke and I were pretty tired by 10:30.

New Years day we went to Steamboat Gulch near Idaho city to go sledding. It was nice to get out of the house and see some snow but the hills were not what we expected. The snow was very hard, packed down and bumpy. I was really nervous someone was going to get hurt and they said it sure didn't feel good when they caught air and came down hard. I didn't sled at all- didn't seem the best for a pregnant lady.

We had a picnic lunch and hot chocolate.

We also roasted some marshmallows. This was Austin's favorite part. We didn't have a lot of wood but we sure had a lot of cardboard boxes so our fire was mostly boxes. The trip wasn't quite as fun as I hoped but I was glad we did something on our day off as a family.
