For Jake's birthday we went to Rainforest Cafe. His co-workers recommended it, so we decided to check it out. It was really cool. It looked like a jungle inside and there were animals. We got caught in a down pour on the way there and there was a lot of traffic on the way there and the way back. I don't think we'll be headed back anytime soon.
There was a guy who tied balloons for the kids. It was really loud though. Every 10 min. the animals start making noise and the lights flash every once in a while. Kaylee actually was a little scared of the gorillas.

Happy Birthday Jake!

Yesterday was Jake's birthday. We had Father's day and his birthday the same week, more time to appreciate what a good husband and father he is. The girls enjoyed helping Jake open his presents, although Kaylee told him what he was getting the day we bought them. She doesn't know how to keep a secret.
After dinner and presents we had a pool party. It's been nice to have a swimming pool!
Of course we had the traditional spumoni cake. The girls helped me make the cake and couldn't wait to eat it. Today the party continues...Jake is golfing with some guys from work and then we are going to Rainforest Cafe. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE!!

The Weekend

This weekend was really fun. We went to the zoo on Friday. We are really close to the Fort Worth zoo so we decided to get season passes. The girls had a great time looking at the animals but I don't think they were nearly as excited as Jake was for this....
the lizards, and snakes, and frogs. Jake probably could has spent all day in there. Kaylee even got to pet a snake (I was too slow to get a picture of it though).
Playing with the kimono dragon. We only got a part of the zoo in while we were there. We'll be back many times this summer (in the morning before it gets too hot).
Saturday Jake and I went to see Wicked!!! I loved it! I do wish we had been a little closer to the stage but it was still amazing. Jake even enjoyed it (I don't think he was expecting to). I wish I would have brought the camera to get a picture in front of the sign. Oh well. My cousins and Aunt and Uncle were kind enough to watch our girls for us. Thank You!!
We are really enjoying Fort Worth. It has many things to offer that Lubbock doesn't. It is also so green here. It is a great contrast to the desert of Lubbock. It comes at a price though. It is so humid! Just walking out the door you feel wet. I guess I'll have to get used to it.
