Member Missonary and Decisions

I have not really shared the gospel much in my life. I grew up in Utah and most of my friends were already LDS (I did give one 1 Book of Mormon in 9th grade) and then I went to BYU-Idaho where everyone is already LDS. In Washington our neighbors only spoke Russian so we never shared the gospel with them.

• There has been a lot of excitement about missionary work in Lubbock the past few months. We got a new Stake president and he had a vision about how our stake is going to grow and be split into 2 stakes. There has been a big push for missionary work and there already has been great success.
• Today I took part in that missionary work. I gave a Book of Mormon to my neighbor. We had the missionaries in our home a few months back and they gave us a family mission plan and asked us to pray about who to share the gospel with and our neighbors came to my mind. We have been getting to know them these past few months and talked about church a little bit. They are good Christians who go to church every Sunday and Wednesday. Her grandpa and father-in-law are ministers. To me it seemed like they were not likely to accept another religion since they are so into their church, but I had to at least try. I know I would have regretted it if I did not share what I know with them. We have been praying for months and months for them but had not really done anything so today I decided it was time to do something. I gave her a Book of Mormon and bore my testimony of it. She took it and promised she would read it! I am so happy she is going to give it a chance!! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true!!!
• In other news we found out Jake also got the internship in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Now we have a week to decide where to go. Cedar Rapids....

...or Fort Worth... It wouldn't be so hard if the choice was just for the summer, but where we go for an internship is most likely where we will go after Jake graduates too. It is hard having 2 good options. We just feel blessed to have the option of 2 different jobs in a bad economy. A good education can do great things for you. We'll keep you updated on our decision.

P.S. How do you get different paragraphs on here? I feel like I've tried everything and it always ends up one big paragraph.

It's been a long week

This past week has consisted of runny/stuffy noses, and lots and lots of yucky coughing and wheezing. Kaylee has been sick for a week and Brooke is just starting to come down with it. I'm pretty sure it is RSV but I didn't take them to the Dr (I avoid it if possible-he'll just tell me they're sick). The other kids in Kaylee's pre-school group have RSV (their mom's took them to the dr) and since it is extremely contagious and Kaylee has the same symptoms as them I can only assume she has it too. She is just about better though, Brooke on the other hand has made me hold her all day and I held her half the night last night to help her breath better. I'll be glad when they are better!

Since we have been stuck in the house we've been a little bored but we've tried to keep entertained making Valentines

and playing in boxes...I tried to upload a video of the girls singing but it wasn't working.

I hope the girls both get better quick before we all go crazy!!

I'm in love!

I LOVE this van! I know there are people who are anti-mini van but you just can't beat the convenience. I push a button and the doors slide open. There is also so much more space. There was no way we were going to be able to fit 3 carseats in our other car but this one will fit more with ease. (no I'm not pregnant- we are just prepared in advance.) The girls love their new van too. We've been saving up the past 2 1/2 years for this van so it is paid for -no car payments.

Thank Heaven for calm little girls....

We recently joined a "pre-school" group twice a week with 3 other moms from our ward/apartment complex. We each host once every other week so it's not too bad. Today was my first day to host. There are 5 kids (including Kaylee) and 3 of them are crazy, hyper boys!!! They were running, pushing and wrestling while I tried to read a story. They were fighting and throwing toys during play time and would not listen to what I said. I didn't feel so bad when the mom of the main trouble causer came to get him and he wouldn't listen to her either. My girls will fight sometimes and Kaylee will push Brooke at times but they are nothing compared to these boys! I am so grateful for my sweet, calm (most of the time) little girls!!

Overall it wasn't too bad. Kaylee loves to play with friends and I love having 2 free hours (Brooke is usually napping) twice a week.

Here are a few more pictures from our winter storm. The freezing rain caused lots of trees to break and made the roads like an ice skating rink. I went to the airport to pick up Jake at 10:30 at night and only drove 20-35 on the freeway. Jake was in Iowa for an internship interview and the manager told him it was pretty likely he would get the job. Now we'll have to decide where to go this summer- Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Fort Worth, Texas.

The girls had a great time playing in the snow until Brooke fell in a big slushy mud puddle!

The snow is gone once again. Here's hoping from some warmer weather!!
