This little boy is always chewing on things -we haven't seen any hint of teeth yet.
Me and the kids on Mother's Day. Brooke gave me the crown because I am a "good mommy."
He doesn't get bottles often but we were trying to see if he'd sleep longer at night if he had formula. Austin still only sleeps in 3-5 hour stretches at night. We had to let Kaylee and Brooke cry for a little while to get them to sleep longer. If we let Austin cry it wakes up everyone and the girls are tired and grumpy the next day. I think once school is out we'll have to try it though....

They love doing "kid pile" pictures.

Chewing again- he bites hard!
I'm not sure how he got to be 5 months old already... didn't I just have him?

Camping

Last weekend Jake went camping with the scouts so we decided to have our own camp out in the living room. Jake set up the tent for us and I drug in the queen size mattress off the couch for padding. We had smores and read stories and watched a movie from the tent. Everything was going well until bed time. A thunderstorm rolled in and Kaylee doesn't handle them well after seeing tornadoes on TV last month. (I'll admit I was a little nervous until I checked the weather and saw there was no tornado threat.) I assured her everything was fine and she was safe and left the girls in the tent to sleep and went to get Austin ready for bed. Brooke fell asleep right away but Kaylee was up every 10 minutes asking "Is there going to be a tornado?" I let her stay up with me in my room until the storm passed and then sent her to her own bed (and she still kept getting up- that girl has sleep issues lately.)  I slept in my own bed to (Let's be honest, I never planned to sleep in the tent all night. I have to get up with Austin anyway.) Brooke slept great in the tent all night.

This week there have been a lot of jets flying over (we don't live far from a base and Lockeed Martin so it's common.) EVERY TIME one goes by Kaylee comes running to me and asks "What's that sound?" When I confirm it's a jet she asks "Is it not going to crash?" She was watching the news with me when they talked about the jet that crashed into an apartment complex. I guess she should stop watching the news with me because she is such a worrier.

I registered Kaylee for kindergarten last week. I can't believe she is old enough! In Texas kindergarten is all day. Today I signed Brooke up for preschool. It will be two days a week from 9-2. That means I will have two days of only one child at home! I am really excited about that! I love my kids but it will be so nice to have them in school!
