Princess Camp and Boise

Kaylee, Brooke and their friend Racheal hosted a Princess Camp this last week. They planned for day- games, crafts (decorating crowns and wands) , Kaylee made cookies and frosting and I took them to shop for supplies.

They ran the whole thing with no help for 12 girls.

They made some pretty good money and had a good time.

The next day we took a field trip into Boise to see the capital building.

It's really pretty inside.

We also stopped by Jake's work for a quick visit before heading to Anniversary Inn. They have room tours daily so we went in to check it out.

Austin loved that the Boise State room had 3 T.V.'s. It's like his dream room.

They all thought it was the coolest hotel they'd ever seen.

We also stopped at Anne Morrison Park.

Emma heard about "Joey and Lauren's baby bash" on the radio. They are the morning show hosts of the station we listen to. She really wanted to go and talked about it for weeks so we went...
She got to see princesses, meet Joey and Lauren, get her face painted and we got some free food.

I think she was a pretty happy girl.

Backpacking

Aug. 1 the girls and I went on mother/daughter backpacking trip with some friends from the ward. It was a lot harder than I anticipated. We hiked in 5 miles and 3 of them were uphill. It was hot and it was exhausting! We went up past Louie Lake and onto Boulder Lake.

At Boulder Lake we set up camp for the night and the girls swam in the lake.

We had our freeze dried meals, roasted marshmallows and went to bed.

It was a LONG night. I didn't fall asleep until after 2:00 and didn't sleep well. The ground was hard and our tent was too small to stretch out in.

The next morning we packed up and had breakfast then hiked out 2 miles. We were all exhausted but it was a good trip. We can do hard things!

Summer Fun 2

Checked out the Boise Watershed.

The kids loved taking pictures with the photo wall.

Kaylee really wanted to make cake so she baked 5 little cakes and made frosting for us to decorate. She's been really into baking since watching shows like Sugar Rush and Just Add magic on Netflix.

We also played with the Meyets in the Boise River.

Last Day

After breakfast and some morning cleaning we did some family pictures.
It was super foggy when we first woke up so we were really glad it burned off a bit.

It was fun to be here with family and play games, talk, and hang out.

It was such a nice morning we didn't want to leave....

Perfect temperature, beautiful beach, and really cool sky. I love the beach, even if the water is way too cold to play in. Finally around 10:00 we left the beach, packed up our stuff and by 10:30 we were on the road for our 8 1/2 hour drive home. It was a lovely vacation.
