Bear Lake Cabin

We went to the cabin in Bear Lake for the weekend. Before everyone else got there we went hiking in Tony's grove. 

There was still snow up there.

It was so beautiful.

We went to help to help prep the cabin for painting. The wood needed to all be cleaned.

The kids even got in on the work with some sanding.

There was lots of Foosball playing...

and more hiking. Swan Peak was more intense than I thought it would be and we didn't even make it to the top.

It was so cold!!

Lila didn't seem to think it was cold.

We celebrated Jake and Peter's birthdays with pie and homemade ice cream!

Monday was his real birthday- Kaylee made him a lemon pie and he got a few gifts- nothing too thrilling but we sure are happy to he was born.

Once the girls felt better we went on a hike in the foothills.

We also tried out the JUMP slide.

Father's day gifts

Kaylee and Sarah went to the temple while the kids and I walked the grounds.

Tonsillectomies

I had a free hotel night that needed to be used I thought it would be great to stay right near the hospital in Boise so we would be close for an early morning surgery only to find out surgery would be at 2:00 so my timing didn't quite workout.

We still had a girls night and swam in the pool.

The girls did really well. They didn't seem too nervous and Kaylee snapped right out of anesthesia.

The first few days post op were spent watching movies and eating popsicles. 

They were good 2 days post op they felt ok to eat free donuts on National Donut day.

By day 4 they felt more like this... days 4-7 were pretty rough. They hurt a lot and could hardly eat.

This is what our night time set up looked like... medication every 3 hours. We were all so tired.

We had Isaac and Dallin stayed with us for a few days unfortunately it was the days that the girls felt the worst. 

I took all the kids to Eagle Island and all Kaylee wanted to do was lay in the shade with ice on her neck.

The other kids had fun.

End of school

Kaylee got an award - academic excellence in social studies.

Emma graduated preschool!

Grandma and Grandma came and ate lunch at school for last day family picnic.

We attacked the kids with squirt guns when we got home.

Memorial Day

On Memorial day we hiked the Crooked River trail near Idaho City. It had burned up a few years ago but reopened this year.

We hikes 3.5 miles in and then discovered ticks! Lots of ticks! Kaylee had 10 ticks in her hair, Brooke had three (one of them burrowed in her head), Emma had 3 in her hair. The whole way back to the car the kids complained "this is the worst hike ever, why did you make us do this?"

We got ice cream for dinner to make it better.
