April

We had our annual crazy dinner on April Fools day. The kids order and have no idea what they are ordering for dinner. They absolutely love this.

Brooke bought some giant stuffed animals from our neighbors yard sale...

Family walk around Hyatt Hidden Lake.

Sunday baking - we make a treat each Sunday after our gospel study.

I've been wanting to make this chocolate mouse raspberry cake and it didn't disappoint.

Kaylee is on the school tennis team. She's never played tennis before but is enjoying it. I'm proud of her for trying something new.

We learned about the life of Christ the week before his death. We had a "Passover" dinner on Thursday.

The Easter bunny came - Saturday morning the kids got to see what he brought.

 New Easter dresses!

Matching Easter ties!

We went to the Oto's house for a delicious Easter dinner then we had an egg hunt with 180 eggs!

The last surprise for the day was the cute chicks.

We sure love our family and are so grateful to our Savior. Because of Him we have our family forever!!

Moab Spring Break

Monday March 25 we headed south for our spring break adventure with 3 moms and 9 kids. Our first stop was Dead Horse Point. I hadn't been there since I was a kid.

We enjoyed the views on our 4 mile hike around the rim.

We stayed in Moab at Expedition Lodge and we were excited our room had 3 queen beds and Texas waffles!! Those waffles made me so happy!

Day 2 we went to Arches National Park. Our first hike of the day was Delicate Arch. I was so impressed with how much better the kids hiked this year, Emma and Talise made it all the way up with out stopping. Last year we had to stop multiple times.

Kaylee and I waited in line to stand under the arch.

The kids loved climbing rocks. It was a little scary to us how high they climbed but they seemed really confident so we tried not to worry. We stopped for lunch by Devils Garden and the kids climbed every rock they could find.

After lunch we hiked landscape arch.

We took a rest stop to play in the soft sand.

We also hiked pine tree arch, double...

and the Windows sections. 7 miles hiking that day.

At the end of each day we went swimming (in the pool at the hotel next door -our pool was closed for repairs.)

Day 3 we went to Canyonlands. I had never been there before. It was a lot less busy than Arches. Our first hike was Aztec Butte. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Emma was pretty nervous with all the rock climbing and I was nervous with all the younger kids doing it...

The top of Aztec Butte had old Indian granaries over 1,000 years old.

Upheaval Dome was a fun hike and the view was incredible.

Our last hike was canyon view trail with more incredible views.

6 miles of hiking  in Canyonlands.

After Canyonlands  we stopped at a big dirt hill right outside Moab.  The kids had so much fun running down the hill.

It was so exhausting walking up that hill I can't believe the kids did it so many times.

Day 4 we drove to Little Wild Horse Canyon. It was an hour and a half drive from Moab. This was everyone's favorite hike so it was worth it.

It's such a cool slot  canyon. After our 4 mile hike we went to Goblin Valley.

The kids had fun running around and playing but I could tell they were tired. After lunch Austin was ready to go home.

The kids all got along great and we had such a good time!
