Jake's B-day

Jake went to Virginia for work last week. His brother lives there so they were able to spent some time together. They visited the Smithsonian, the white house and many memorials in the DC area. It was great for Jake to have a local tour guide. Unfortunately he didn't have a camera so we have no pictures of the trip...

Jake got back from his trip just in time for his birthday. Kaylee and Brooke were so excited! They helped me decorate, make the cake, and they opened Jake's presents and cards for him.

We had a few friends over for cake and ice cream and had a good time. Kaylee and Brooke wanted to help blow out the candles ans took care of them before Jake got a chance.... can you tell they like birthdays?

What to do...

Recently Brooke has stopped napping. She thinks she is too old (some days she still needs one though) and occasionally this happens....

When she doesn't nap she has "quiet time" with Kaylee. They are supposed to play quietly in their room. They were doing great until this week... one day they emptied out all the toys from their shelf. Next the progressed to emptying out the entire closet. When they didn't clean up their toys, the toys were taken away.

 Today I left one small bin of food toys for them to play with. I though I blocked their closet so they couldn't get in. They were playing great... and then it got quiet. I went in their room and found them in their closet- naked and coloring on themselves with markers. This is what their room looks like...

They stripped the beds as well as themselves and made as big a mess as possible.

What do I do with these girls? Good thing they're cute.

Kaylee has been doing a lot of hair lately- dolls, ponies, anything that has hair. Her favorite hair to do is mine. What do you think? A future talent?
