Going Private

Every time someone else makes their blog private Jake mentions that it is a great idea and we should make ours private so... I'm finally going to do it. Please leave you e-mail address under comments if you would like to be invited to the Williams' Family blog.

It's a....

I had an ultrasound today and found out we are having another Girl! It will be nice since we won't have to buy any new clothes, or anything! I really thought we were having a boy this time, but Jake said all along it was a girl. He was right again. We got to find out a little bit earlier than most people because when I had the quad screen blood test (tests for the possibility of spinal bifida, trisomy 18 and down syndrome) done 2 weeks ago it came up abnormal for Down Syndrome. Based on the blood test they told me there was a 1 in 209 chance the baby had Down Syndrome. That is less than 1% chance so I wasn't really too worried, but they had us meet with a genetics councilor today and then have an ultra sound to see if there were any Down syn. characteristics in the baby. Everything looked completely normal which lowered the risk to 1 in 418 which is 0.25% chance there is anything wrong. There are no guarantees, but we know whatever happens, happens. It is in Heavenly Father's hands and we'll take whatever child he gives us.

Sunny Day...

We finally had a sunny day here in Washington! I loved it! When Jake got home from work we went to a park for a picnic. Kaylee loved being outside so much she didn't want to go home. She kept trying to play with the bigger kids, but they didn't want to play with her. It makes me nervous sometimes that she is really going to get hurt trying to be with them.The park had a beautiful view of the sound (the water- for those of you not from WA.) Unfortunately the sun is gone and who knows when it will come back. We are back to cloudy skies and rain :( When it's rainy we have to play inside. We recently got a membership to the Children's Museum here in Everett. Kaylee is not quite sure about the slide....

but she loved the water. I could hardly get her to leave.

Sunday was her first official day in nursery and she loved it! She didn't care at all that I left and she was good the whole time. The nursery leader said she was the best one in there, the only one that didn't cry. I'm so glad she likes nursery, church was so much more pleasant when we didn't have to keep her quite and entertained the whole time!

18 months...

Kaylee had her 18 month check up this week and she is now a hefty 18lbs 5oz. We are getting closer and closer to turning that car seat around. The poor girl was so tired when we got to the doctor's office and so she screamed when anyone besides mom got near her. The doctor hardly got to touch her and then she got a shot and that really set her off. She fell asleep on the way home and continued to sleep once I got her home in bed. When she woke up she cried every time her leg moved and wouldn't walk, apparently her leg stiffened up after the shot. She just wanted to sit with mom most of the day. I did have to put her down to make dinner. I set her down with a coloring book and crayons and she was good for about an hour. The poor little thing didn't move at all in that hour. Finally after a little more medicine and a bath she walked again -limping at first. Good thing we have 6 more months before more shots! She wants to dress herself all the time now, but hasn't quite got it figured out. She's always getting into her dirty laundry and trying to put more clothes on over what she is wearing. What a silly girl.
