Stock Show

We've been enjoying some nice winter weather here in Texas. Nothing beats eating an ice-cream cone in the middle of January.

Last Friday was Jake's day off so we went to the Stock Show. It was near 80 degrees that day! We had a good time walking around seeing the animals. Brooke was afraid of the goats in the petting zoo but she liked the bunnies. Brooke really wanted to go on the carnival rides, but we wouldn't let her (it would have cost $8 for both girls to go on the kid roller coaster- no thank you!)

Kaylee isn't afraid of goats.

It's a good thing I don't live on a farm. I started sneezing as soon as I walked into the petting zoo and couldn't stop. Our favorite were the baby animals- ducklings, chicks, and lambs, but of they didn't let anyone pet them. It was a good family outing. We haven't gone out much since Austin was born. He slept peacefully the whole time in the stroller.

One Month Old

Austin had his one month check up yesterday.
9lbs 11oz -40%
23 1/4 inches- 93%

My girls weren't this size until they were 3 months old. He's a big boy!
We also found out he has clogged tear ducts- I guess it's not normal for him to have tears when he cries. He's had them since birth so I didn't think anything of it. He also may have reflux- he was up every hour last night! The doctor said to try an antacid and see if it helps.

This is what Austin's normal day looks like- his sisters right in his face and eventually they start pushing each other to be the closest to him.

Austin's newborn pictures

Our little man is almost a month old now. It's amazing how fast time flies! We love having this sweet boy in our family. Kaylee and Brooke can not get enough of him. He is always getting hugs and kisses and they are always right in his face "Hi little buddy!"
When we put the girls to bed at night and sing songs they always request Austin to lay by them...

Kaylee didn't used to care about babies at all but she asks to hold her brother all the time.
This was his first bath. He loves the bathtub!

I love the newborn stage with all the reflexes that go with it. The girls think it is hilarious when he tries to eat anything that comes near his mouth. I love cuddling up and taking a nap with him (which doesn't happen often with 2 girls.) He'll sleep 3 hour stretches at night most nights. He is a good baby- he eats, poops, sleeps, poops, gets his diaper changed and immediately poops again. We go through a lot of diapers around here! I think he would sleep longer at night if he didn't have to wake up and poop :)

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year. It was nice to stay home and not have to worry about traveling. The girls were so excited for Santa to come this year. They were even happy that he left them some new panties in their stockings. :)

  Cute kids!

Austin was pretty excited that Santa brought him presents as well.

Oma gave the girls some dolls so they can take care of babies too.

I was excited to get a Kindle for Christmas from my parents. It is nice to read while nursing or holding the baby!
Brooke has worn this skirt and shirt pretty much everyday since Christmas.

We were happy to get a new GPS too since our old one stopped working. Kaylee and Brooke were very helpful opening Austin and Jake's presents for them.

The girls played with all of their toys before Church. Luckily we had 1:00 church so there was time to relax before going. (I stayed home with Austin.) It's been nice having new toys for the girls to play while I'm taking care of Austin.
